Soul Food Sunday: Super Bowl edition

Over 100 million people watch the Super Bowl.  Last years was down to 103 million from the previous year’s 112 million.  That is the equivalent of one-third of all the people in the U.S. tuned in to the TV at the same time watching the same game.  Noel & Katie Kegel are not among them.  I get that for some people it’s not about the game, it’s about getting together with friends, having yummy snacks, the commercials, the halftime show.  It’s just not my jam.  You know what is my jam though?  Movies.  When I was little my dad would watch the Super Bowl in one room and my mom and I would watch movies in a different room because, as she said, “they always have the best movies on TV during the Super Bowl.”  Every year I try to see as many of the Oscar-nominated movies as possible.  Tonight Noel and I hit three best picture nominees at three different theaters ending at our favorite, The Oriental.  The Oriental is my favorite building in the entire city. Krissy and I also saw If Beale Street Could Talk. Four Oscar pics in one weekend makes MOVIES the food feeding my soul this week.

Vice (at The Downer)

Green Book (at Fox Bay)

Cold War (at The Oriental)
